Growing up in a Southeastern European country, in a family of musicians, made for a most unusual childhood. My parents’ vision to raise a concert pianist led to formative years heavily influenced by all muses of the arts. My teen years were spent studying the works of Bach, the art installations of Christo, and everything in between. My days were filled with symphony concerts, art exhibits, and plays, while Sarah, Duke, and Charlie’s jazz tunes frequently were the background of my parents’ weekend parties. My favorite pastime, however, was to draw. It gave me the freedom to imagine without limitations. Drawing, for me, was the plane where the abstract was as meaningful as the real.
After moving to the States, I decided to follow my passion and to pursue studies in visual communications design. I knew immediately I had found my calling. Visual communications gave me the language to translate ideas with color, shapes, and texture, and the voice to create powerful emotional connections between stories and their audiences. Today my focus is on art expression in various contexts and mediums, because these allow me to discover new ways to reach and influence. As I am driven by design that communicates and inspires, I especially love being a creative partner in all aspects of branding, bringing visual identities to life.
'There are three responses to a piece of design – yes, no, and WOW...'
WOW is the one I aim for.
